aus einer Einzellage der Sorten Rabigato, Samarrinho, Donzelinho branco, Viosinho and Códega und anderen …
die Lage ist 480m hoch gelegen und selbstverständlich von Hand geerntet und sorgfältig vinifiziert:
nach der sorgfältigen Pressung erfolgte nach 24h kalter Mazeration dann vorsichtiges Pumpen in die Fässer
… von Zweit- oder Drittbelegung, klassische 225L Barrique oder auch 300 L Fässer von ausgewählten Küfern
dort erfolgte weitere Reife bei temperaturgesteuerten 10-14° Celsius für ca 25 bis 28 Tage
anschliessen für 9 Monate mit Battonage Reife in denselben Fässern
höchste Eleganz in der Nase und im Gaumen: Limetten, Zitrus, Pfirsich und ein Hauch von Nougat und Butter
extreme lagerfähig spiegelt dieser Wein die Klasse des Douro wider, fast unentdeckt
für Burgunder- , Chasselas-, Chablis- und anderer eleganter Wein – Liebhaber ein must have !
und wenn es auch zur Erweiterung des Wissensspektrum dfient: ein Hochgenuß!
Hier wie so oft der genaue Jahresbericht von Christiano van Zeller ( er ist berühmt für seine chronistische Exaktheit ) :
zum Erntejahr 2021 mit einer sehr persönlichen Einstellung zur Natur und dem Umgang mit der Natur,
auch wenn er von einem ganz normalen Jahr spricht:
The viticulture year of 2020/2021can be resumed to a normal and dry year.The lack of rainfall through March in all the region enhanced the very reduced action of mildium infections.Mild temperatures during Spring and Summer originated good conditions for the development of oidium,which made it imperative to activate protective and curative treatments to avoid oidium’s action affecting thehealthy development and maturity of the grapes.In spite of a very dry March and May, the rainfall all through winter allowed a very healthy and normaldevelopment of the vines through their cycle and also that of the grapes through its maturity period, even witha dry and hot month of August.Some rainfall in September helped to close the maturity cycle of the grapes and the final production volume inthe Douro region ended a little above average.In my experience of 42 vintages in the Douro, 2021 was the best quality and volume production ever in ourCV – Curriculum Vitae White and Red Douro wines’ vineyards and one of the best quality production from ourwhite grapes’ farmers for our VZ Douro White. The grapes were healthy, full of flavour and made incrediblyfresh white juices, producing memorable wines.For the Douro Reds, full of black fruity flavours, very intense in dark red and violet colours, balanced acidity andimpressive structure.Our Ports are also very impressive and dark, full of fresh fruit and structure.At Van Zellers & Co. picking for the white grapes went from the 2nd to the 8th of September and for our redgrapes from the 10th to the 30th of September 2021.

Im September 2022 wurden 2215 Flaschen und 228 Magnum mit 1,5L gefüllt
12% alc, 1,26 g/L RZ, 6,7 g/L acid, 127 g/L SO2, 3,35 pH – Allergikerinfo: Kann Sulfite enthalten Zart, duftig und mit fein abgestimmter Balance – rundum gelungen.
